Be Content

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:5 ESV

The bible is truth that we should build our lives upon, and it has much to tell us when it comes to money. This particular verse stresses not to love money, contentment, and the fact that God got our back

Humans aren’t designed to love money and things, but God and people. This is why loving God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength is the greatest commandment; followed by loving others as yourself. This is also why, do not covet, is one of the 10 commandments.

But doesn’t the world constantly want to remind us of all the things we don’t have, but “need”? Don’t we often think…if only I made a little more money?

Contentment isn’t found in money or things, but God alone.

For me this verse is a good reminder to not stress about money or things I don’t have; but on the great all powerful God I do have (who will never leave me, nor forsake me).
