Burn Their idols

25 “You must burn their idols in fire, and you must not covet the silver or gold that covers them. You must not take it or it will become a trap to you, for it is detestable to the Lord your God. 26 Do not bring any detestable objects into your home, for then you will be destroyed, just like them. You must utterly detest such things, for they are set apart for destruction.

Deuteronomy 7:25-26 NLT

Not all money is good money. It matters how it is obtained. These verses come right after God tells Israel that they would have victory over other nations, but specifically tells them to burn the idols; and warns them not to keep the idols for the silver or gold. The Israelites were probably thinking, "Why let this silver and gold go to waste?" However, we must learn to trust God, even when it doesn't make sense. We will all face situations in our lives where choosing God's ways will seem foolish financially, from a worldly perspective, but will be exactly what God wants us to do (and He will bless us for it).
